Does Reiki help with self-esteem?
Yes, it does. One of the key benefits of Reiki is that it's a holistic complementary healing system. It stands out from other therapies because it doesn't pressure you to change your beliefs, mindset, or lifestyle. There's no need for a special diet or to quit any other treatments you're receiving, whether they're conventional or alternative. Reiki complements them without any interference. It doesn't conflict with other treatments; quite the opposite, it boosts their effectiveness. Whether you choose to start practising Reiki independently or incorporate it with other techniques, its effectiveness remains intact. As you learn to use Reiki or receive it from a practitioner, you create a pathway to a deeper connection with your body energetically, emotionally and physically.
Awakening Inner Awareness Through Reiki Energy
As we begin a journey within, we naturally grow more aware of our body's sensations. The goal is to gradually learn to quiet the mind and improve our ability to feel various sensations. Gently, we turn our focus to sensing—becoming aware of what's happening inside our body. We pay close attention to our thoughts. We observe any sensations that emerge as we channel Reiki energy to different parts of the body by positioning our palms.
Embracing Patience and Presence
In Reiki, patience is key. Rushing to feel something can lead to disappointment—it's a practice that unfolds over time. Striving too hard can cause us to overlook what truly matters. Often, we set expectations based on others' experiences, trying to replicate their sensations. But it's essential to remember that each person's journey is distinct. Our bodies, emotions, and life stories are unique. You can't fail by not feeling the same as someone else; the only misstep is trying to accomplish too much at once. Embrace your individual path in Reiki, free from the burden of comparison.
Finding Inner Balance: Developing Intuition and Fulfillment Through Awareness
As we progress, we gain insight into our body's inner workings. We start to notice how our emotions are linked to the places we touch. Our body responds uniquely in different areas—it's speaking to us, signalling its needs. With time, this awareness grows. We become more attuned to our physical self and develop a profound connection with our body, learning to recognize and meet its needs. Slowly, We reach a point where we can instinctively discern what feels right and what doesn't. Our senses sharpen, allowing us to say "yes" or "no" to life's offerings, more confidently. We come to recognise that even the smallest actions can evoke physical, emotional, and energetic responses within us. Like so, our intuition develops naturally. Our internal circulatory systems improve, and we begin to feel more rested and balanced, thus, we simply start feeling more complete. The more we feel fulfilled, the less we start to lack, the less we lack the more space we create inside ourselves, inviting the feeling and thoughts that things are possible. Little by little we become stronger without focusing too hard on reflecting too much on our past delving into trauma and trying forcefully to let it go.
Healing takes time, and there's no rush. Each of us moves at our own unique speed. Since a universal solution doesn't exist, we naturally learn patience as we engage in practice, observation, and reflection. It's essential to find the path that resonates with us on an individual level.
Embracing Life's Journey: Letting Go, Shaping Growth, and Rediscovering Yourself in Every Decade
Remember, there are no deadlines when it comes to letting something go. We can't decide on fixing ourselves before having a baby, or before finding a boyfriend, or husband or anything else... We actually don't have to fix anything at all - because we are in a constant flux of shaping.
You might find this perspective unusual, as it doesn't align with the typical modern mindset. In Reiki, we understand life as a journey where we're already equipped with all the necessary tools. Our quest is deeply personal and varies depending on our stage in life.
In our first decade, we grow rapidly, learning to observe, crawl, walk, listen, speak, and comprehend. We explore our surroundings, make friends, play, share, and begin our education in reading, writing, and science, connecting with people, animals, and nature.
The next ten years revolve around sexual maturation, exploring attraction, navigating hormones, experiencing first kisses or sexual encounters, and dealing with heartbreak. It's a time for completing education, perhaps attending university, or starting a career.
The following decade is about amassing life experiences—travelling, working abroad, possibly marrying or divorcing, having children, enduring loss, changing jobs, or facing unemployment.
By the third decade, we've learned lessons and become confident in our knowledge and identity—or conversely, we may feel stuck, depressed, and fearful of ageing too quickly, developing aches, pains, or health issues. We strive to navigate life as best we can.
Then the fourth decade often brings transformation and renewed energy to start afresh. We recognise the value of time and desire to live joyfully, or we reassess our life choices due to health concerns.
Path to Self-Discovery: Aligning Actions with Heart and Welcoming Inner Change
In Reiki, we don't believe in doing more than necessary. We hold that you should ask yourself questions before seeking answers from others. Reiki is a tool to support you through these times, no matter your age. When you're young and reckless, that's okay—there's no need to slow down. Reiki will be there to help you give yourself credit when making those crucial life decisions. It has your back, offering guidance whenever you need to consult with yourself.
We are transforming by default. With time and age our energy slows down so we reflect more on who we are, we understand more because by then we already had experienced losses and gains. We get more patient and wiser. So we don't have to try hard to build confidence or "work" on our self-esteem in Reiki... All we have to do is feel the flow within. Sense the energy flow in our body and hear our heart and instead of ignoring it - align our actions, thoughts and beliefs with it and wait to see who we are becoming.
